According to news on May 11, the Volvo EX30 has been officially announced. This is a pure electric small SUV. It will usher in the world premiere at 20:30 on June 7, Beijing time.
In fact, Volvo already introduced the compact SUV last year when it unveiled the EX90, which the company called “the safest car ever made,” and it shares a number of designs with the EX90, as well as components such as the sharply angled hatchback shape and taillights.
Jikrypton X, smart Phantom 1 and Volvo EX30 all belong to Geely’s SEA vast structure, and they are all small SUVs, but the overall design styles are quite different, with different functions and focuses, and each has its own audience.
Judging from the warm-up content, Volvo has put a lot of effort into the size of this new car, and its press release also pointed out that “thinking small is one of our biggest ideas”.
In fact, the car is likely to be slightly smaller than Volvo’s 40-series EVs, including the C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge, but it will still retain an SUV design, meaning it will likely go farther than the C40 Recharge.
Volvo’s chief executive, Jim Rowan, has said before: “Get a smaller SUV, it’s better for city driving, maybe for first-time buyers.” is our next market.

Someone on the Cochespias forum has released a patent image of this model, which looks a lot like a miniature version of the EX90, at least the front design.
