Kia and Shell launched a charging strategic cooperation: the first supercharger station landed in Nanjing, with a charging power of 360kW.
According to the news on August 13, the editor learned from Kia officials that on August 12, Kia China and Shell China formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement.
The two parties will rely on their respective advantages in technology and industrial resources to carry out in-depth cooperation around the construction of charging infrastructure.
On the day of the event, the first cooperative brand supercharger station landed in Nanjing and officially started operation.
At the signing ceremony, Jin Jingxuan, general manager of Kia China, said: “The strategic cooperation between Kia China and Shell marks the official launch of the construction of Kia’s charging network system.
Strong determination to invest in and succeed in the Greater China market.”
In order to actively meet the needs of Chinese users for electric vehicles, in March this year, Kia released China’s medium and long-term electrification strategy.
10,000 vehicles, of which 180,000 pure electric vehicles are sold, accounting for 40% of the target, and innovations and changes in brand, product, channel, service and other dimensions will accelerate the transformation into an electrified brand.
It is worth mentioning that the Nanjing supercharging station jointly operated by Kia and Shell is equipped with a 360kW supercharging pile, which can perfectly match the 800V ultra-high-speed charging system of Kia electric products.
It only takes 18 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%.
Charging for 5 minutes can increase the cruising range of 100km, which can save charging time for users to the greatest extent.
According to Kia, in the future, Kia China and Shell will continue to work together to expand the construction of supercharger stations in key cities across the country starting from the Nanjing supercharger station; at the same time, they will further expand the layout of the basic charging network by cooperating with local charging companies such as Kuaidian, to provide Chinese users with convenient and efficient charging services.
While improving the charging infrastructure, Kia China is also accelerating the introduction of electric vehicle products.

In addition, according to the plan, Kia’s electric flagship SUV EV9 will also be launched next year, and the new car is expected to achieve L3 autonomous driving.
At the same time, Kia China is also accelerating the construction of the electric vehicle channel system.
The cooperation between Kia and Sime Darby, Xinhanma, Jinlong, Tongli and other large dealer groups is progressing steadily.
The construction of the new channel City Store and the renewal of dealer showroom SI 2.0 are also being upgraded in an orderly manner, so as to build a more complete sales and service system.
In order to enhance the brand experience in the era of electrification, Kia’s newly developed brand app will also be launched in the fourth quarter of this year.
