In 2023, Fiat unveils electric minicar Topolino

Fiat Topolino
Fiat launched the pure electric mini-car Topolino: two doors and two seats, the length of the car is only 2.53 meters.
Italian car company Fiat (Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino, abbreviated as F.I.A.T.) has launched two new electric models: 600e and Topolino.
Despite the similar name, the 600e is not actually related to the Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino 500 electric car, and the new 600e is based on the company’s e-CMP platform, so it is similar to other Stellantis models in terms of technology.
Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino Topolino (literally “little mouse”) is a two-door, two-seat pure electric minicar based on the Citroen Ami, with a starting price of 9,890 euros (currently about 77,933 yuan RMB), and it is available in Italy and France this week.
Pre-orders are starting and deliveries are expected by the end of this year.

The model is only 2.53 meters long, has a top speed of 45km/h, is equipped with a 5.4 kWh battery, can charge from 0% to 100% of the SoC in 4 hours, and has a maximum range of 75km.
Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino offers it in two configurations, a closed model suitable for city roads, and an open beach-themed Topolino Dolcevita model, which mainly uses a large canvas roof and ropes instead of doors.
While the little car is more expensive than the Citroen Ami, it also has more specs than the Ami and its Opel Rocks Electric, including a chrome luggage rack, Dolcevita Box, and vintage chrome-effect mirrors, among other things.
There’s 63L of space inside, and the model can be had with some bespoke Topolino accessories such as a beach shower, two seat covers that double as towels, a wider luggage rack, USB fans, Bluetooth speakers, and thermos bottles for hot and cold drinks, wood-effect stickers on the doors of closed models, roof stripe stickers on Dolcevita models and much more.
Citroen Ami
Like the Citroen Ami, Italians can drive the Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino Topolino as long as they are 14 years old and have a motorcycle license or above, although in most European markets you need to be over 16 years old to drive.
Stellantis recently announced a further investment of 300 million euros (currently about 2.364 billion RMB) in the Kenitra plant in Morocco where Ami is produced, potentially increasing the plant’s production capacity to about 50,000 vehicles per year.

Stellantis plans to migrate all of its future products to these four new battery electric vehicle platforms, including STLA Small, Medium, Large and Frame.
The company will roll out no fewer than 47 electric vehicles globally next year.
Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares (Carlos Tavares) said that the cruising range of battery electric compact and mid-size cars is generally about 300 miles (about 482 kilometers) of small and medium-sized electric vehicles.
The first model to be released based on the STLA Medium platform will be the next-generation Peugeot 3008, a small crossover SUV.
Carlos Tavares said the first new car on the platform will be launched later this year.
Stellantis will henceforth produce up to 2 million vehicles a year on the new platform at plants in various regions in France, Italy, Germany and North America.
At the same time, the company also plans to produce small cars priced below $25,000 (currently about 181,000 RMB) in Southeast Asia and lower-cost European countries to better compete with Chinese automakers.
Carlos Tavares emphasized that all factories in France are producing higher-margin vehicles to compensate for the higher dynamic costs of electric vehicles: “If we want to fight against Chinese competitors, we need to make sure that we can use the same methods as them (globalization) production to balance costs) to compete.”
