New BMW 5 Series Unveiled with Debut of Pure Electric i5 Variant

According to news on May 24, BMW released the new eighth-generation 5-series standard axle version in Europe today, including the fuel version and the pure electric version i5, which is also the first time BMW has launched the 5-series pure electric version.
The new car has comprehensive changes in appearance and interior, which is more fashionable and technological.
The new car will be launched globally in October this year, and the domestic market is also expected to continue to introduce the extended domestic version, which is expected to be put into production as early as January 2024.
The all-new 5-Series gets larger kidney grilles up front, but not as ostentatiously as the 7-Series.
The headlight group also uses a brand new “double arrow” LED light strip, and the lower surround also adds an aerodynamic kit.
The fuel version and the pure electric version of the i5 have different grille materials to distinguish their identities.
The lines on the side of the body are simple and smooth, the door handle adopts a built-in design, and the Huo’s bend at the triangular window of the C-pillar is more obvious.
The taillight group has also been redesigned with a more refined shape.
In terms of interior, the new 5 Series adopts an integrated floating curved screen (12.3-inch instrument panel + 14.9-inch central control screen), equipped with iDrive8 car-machine system, and reduces the number of physical buttons, instead of touch operation.
The steering wheel has also been replaced with a flat-bottomed design, and the overall style is closer to the latest 7 series.
In terms of configuration, the new 5 series is expected to continue to provide front seat ventilation/heating/electric lumbar support, dual-zone/four-zone automatic air conditioning, Harman Kardon/Pauer & Wilkins audio, constant speed battery life/active cruise, head-up Display system, mobile phone wireless charging, WiFi hotspot, etc.,

Among them, the pure electric version i5 will also launch the high-performance model i5 M60 tuned by the M brand, and the wagon version i5 Touring will be launched for the first time.

In the Chinese market, the BMW 5 Series is one of the earliest domestically produced models of BMW Brilliance, and has launched an extended domestic version to meet the needs of domestic consumers for rear space.
Currently, in the domestic market, the main competitors of the BMW 5 Series are still the Audi A6L and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
