BYD is still exploring the most suitable location for a European electric vehicle factory.
The report pointed out that BYD’s investment will become one of the largest investments in the automotive field in Europe in the next few years.
A French minister confirmed to Les Echos that negotiations with BYD are still ongoing.
Although Tesla’s Elon Musk became the focus of last week’s “Select France” investment conference, and BYD did not send a representative to attend, France still hopes to reach an investment and construction agreement with BYD.
In addition, sources revealed that Germany, Spain and other European countries are also working hard to extend olive branches to BYD, hoping that BYD can set up factories there.
Building Factories
BYD’s goal is to mass-produce the first batch of cars in Europe as early as 2025, and the specific factory location will be decided within this year.
BYD prefers to build its own factories in Europe rather than take over other factories.
In this regard, the relevant person in charge of BYD responded to the media that BYD is currently evaluating the feasibility of building a passenger car factory in Europe and is looking for a suitable location.
