According to feedback from car owners, recently delivered Tesla Model 3 and Model Y models can already adjust the intensity of kinetic energy regenerative braking on the central control screen. There are two options to choose from, namely “low” and “standard”.

And the official said that the new version OTA has begun to push, and the vehicles delivered before can be realized through software upgrades.


In fact, this function already existed in the early firmware version, but because Tesla’s decision was too radical, it canceled this function and defaulted to strong kinetic energy recovery. This move made many drivers who were just getting started with Tesla very unaccustomed.


As Tesla’s sales continue to rise, incidents of users stepping on the wrong pedal due to Tesla’s strong kinetic energy recovery frequently occur. Among them, the accelerator pedal was mistaken for the brake pedal, which caused the accident.

With the return of the kinetic energy recovery adjustment option, users can simulate the driving experience of traditional fuel vehicles by setting low kinetic energy recovery + slow driving mode, and lower the threshold for getting started.
